You have the right to delete your SeleVerse account and all associated personal data at any time. We make this process straightforward and transparent.
How to Delete Your Account
Via the App (Recommended)
Open the SeleVerse app → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Follow the confirmation steps. Your deletion request will be processed within 30 days.
Via Email
Send a deletion request to legal@seleverse.com from the email address associated with your account. Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line.
We will verify your identity before processing the deletion.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted:
- Your profile information (name, bio, profile photo)
- All content you have published (posts, articles, videos, voice posts)
- Your direct messages and conversations
- Your follower and following relationships
- Your notification history
- Your payment and earnings history (after mandatory retention period)
What Is Retained
Some data may be retained after account deletion for legal and safety purposes:
- Legal records: Transaction records required by Nigerian financial regulations (up to 6 months)
- Fraud prevention: Data necessary to prevent fraud or abuse (up to 6 months)
- Legal obligations: Data required by court order or law enforcement request
- Aggregated analytics: Anonymized, non-identifiable usage statistics
Deletion Timeline
After submitting a deletion request:
- Immediate: Your account is deactivated and your profile is no longer visible
- Within 30 days: All personal data is permanently deleted from our systems
- Backup systems: Data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten
